چکیده

Experiment Design – Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is used to model and to optimize the activation of Methane (C1) using Ethane (C2) as co-reactant into higher hydrocarbons, over Zn-containing zeolite catalyst. The application of this methodology in this work, allows a better understanding of the influence of the different factors; on two responses simultaneously: C1 Conversion and Aromatic Hydrocarbons Yields. Box-Behnken Design was development and the Responses Surfaces were defined, finding the best combination in the reaction parameters in order to optimize the process. Applying the statistic methodology, the best operation conditions obtained are: high C1 conversion (48.6 mol% C) and Aromatic Hydrocarbons Yields (47.2 mol%) were achieved working at these conditions, advancing to the results recently reported by us, where only one objective function (C1 conversion) was optimized.

Non-oxidative conversion of methane to aromatics over modified zeolite catalysts by transitional metals

The activity of different transitional metals over modified H-ZSM-5 catalysts for methane conversion to aromatics was compared. The first group of catalysts was Mo-impregnated H-ZSM-5 zeolites with 1, 3 and 6 wt% of Mo. The second group was M(3 wt%)- impregnated H-ZSM-5 (M: Ag, Cd, Cr, Mo, Zn and Mn). The catalytic activity of the first group was investigated at 600, 700 and 800 °C and gas hour...

The conversion of CO2 and CH4 to acetic acid over the Au-exchanged ZSM-5 catalyst: a density functional theory study.

The direct conversion of methane and carbon dioxide to acetic acid is one of the most challenging research topics. Using the density functional theory (M06-L) the study reveals the catalytic activity of the Au(I)-ZSM-5 zeolite in this reaction. The Au(I)-ZSM-5 is represented by a 34T quantum cluster model. The activation of the C-H bond over the Au-ZSM-5 zeolite would readily take place via the...

Selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide by methane over cerium and silver ion-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolites

A new catalyst comprising cerium and silver ion-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolite is reported in this paper, for the reduction of nitric oxide by methane in the presence of excess oxygen. The bi-cation exchanged Ce-Ag-ZSM-5 catalyst was very active for this reaction, while either Ce-ZSM-5 or Ag-ZSM-5 alone showed low activity. The presence of oxygen in the feed gas mixture enhanced the activity of the ca...

Methane partial oxidation in iron zeolites: theory versus experiment

The conversion of methane to methanol over zeolitic a-oxygen sites has been demonstrated using Fe-ZSM-5. To discriminate between monoand poly-nuclear active sites, we prepared the [Fe]-ZEO with iron in the ZEOlite lattice via direct synthesis and Fex-ZEO, by dispersion of x wt.% iron on the ZEOlite. Shape-selective formation of nano-clusters of iron oxides with various sizes is realized inside ...

An Experimental Design Study for CH4, C2H6 and C2H4 Adsorption and C2s/CH4 Selectivity on 10X Zeolite

CH4, C2H6 and C2H4 are the most important outlet gaseous of oxidative couple methane (OCM) reaction and this process is a new technology for conversion of natural gas to ethane and ethylene products. In this study, adsorption of OCM outlet hydrocarbons over 10X zeolite has been examined at equilibrium conditions. Temperature and pressure are the most effective operational parameters in the batc...
